The Battle of Solway Moss took place in England near the Scottish boarders on 24 November 1542.

When England's King Henry VIII broke from the Roman Catholic Church, he asked his nephew King James V of Scotland to do the same. He declined his request, and the English's king request to meet at York. This ultimately cause a battle to break out between the countries. In the end Scotland loss to England.

Historical Notes

King James V did not attend the The Battle of Solway Moss as he remained in Scotland in the town of Lochmaben. Once he heard the news he fled to Falkland Palace humiliated, and ill with fever. He died two weeks after.
