Château de Chenonceau is a summer home that now belongs to Catherine de' Medici.
King Henry promised to give the Château de Chenonceau to his wife, Queen Catherine in exchange for helping him clean up the body of a woman. Earlier that night he had accidentally pushed The Archduchess of Bohemia out his bedroom window.
Henry was reluctant, as his did not want to face the wrath of his mistress, Diane de Poitiers. However he realized he needed Catherine's help more, as he did not want to deal with Holy Roman Empire, or make it in international incident.
- In 1547 King Henry II gave Château de Chenonceau to his favourite mistress, Diane de Poitiers.
- Soon after his death, Catherine de' Medici took back Château de Chenonceau.
